I think one of the greatest services we can do for others
is to do for ourselves and be an inspiration to our fellow humans by creating
and living our own dreams.  I confess that often when I want to do something new or a big change, I research and research how someone else did it. Then, after reading about 10 different other
people who did the thing that I want to do;  I think to myself “Oh I can’t do that I am not
qualified or educated in that field or experienced. Who am I to do “that” thing that I want to do?” And what happens next? I have talked myself right out of my brilliant idea that I want to do because of looking at “everyone” else on how to do it or express it.

At this point, I have come to know that two things are going on

1.) FEAR of change, going out of my comfort zone etc

2.) I am leaning on others experiences to do something that was put on my heart to do.

I am leaning on others by reading about them, checking out their websites, books, their “about me” page etc.  Then I compare me and my experience, education, etc. and then sometimes I call a few people and ask them about this and that and how I should proceed. After all that I decide” oh I can’t do that. I am not good enough. Why did I even think that?”  And I have defeated my own dream by leaning on others and not my own inner I AM, God and Universal Knowledge and inspiration.  How many times have you
done this?

This morning I was meditating on this particular big idea and how to go about it and I opened one of my favorite books, “Creative Mind and Success” by Earnest Holmes. I opened to this page: Don’t Be A Leaner.
Hmm, I am not a leaner I said to myself. I mean I make my own way blah
blah and all that I manage, coach and run a successful business.  Then it hit me, yeah, I am a leaner at times.  In summary it says that we are enough, we have our own God given genius within our souls. Our job is to unearth this genius from within and we can never do that by looking to others for guidance. The Divine spark must be fanned into a blaze of the living Fire of your own divinity.

To thine own self be true. Self-Reliance is the key to dwell upon. Listening to your own voice as it speaks to us in ways that are completely understood by us.  And to trust in yourself more than you trust in anyone else. Stop looking for others when you already know the answer, to your own question, dream, and desire.  I think a lot of times we are just afraid of the answer. That it might be too hard to do so we look to see if there is an easier, faster, less painless way to our dream or desire!  I know I can get caught in that
illusion.  I have also discovered and learned through experiences good and bad that it is better to face the fear and do it. Because when I am afraid to do something, I should do it. That is
usually my ego wanting to stay comfy and in the safe known area.

Every one of us has within our own soul’s direct communication with the Divine energy, Infinite Understanding. When we lean on other people we are trying to light our path with their light.

In the end of the short chapter it goes on stressing our own strength and oneness with Infinite Mind. It specifically advises: When you have a real thing to do, keep it to yourself.  Don’t talk about it to anyone. Just know in your own mind what it is you want and keep still about it.  Often, when we have a big idea we go out and blab to everyone about it and next thing you know it has lost all its power.  Because people respond by being confused, questioning or even laughing about it and it becomes confused and
then it is manifested as confused.

When you have an idea, keep it to yourself, be focused, get the mental picture of it,  make it
perfect in mind, enlarge your thought and pass it over to the creative power that is behind all things, wait and listen and when an impression comes to you, trust it no matter how crazy and follow it with assurance.  Never talk about it to anyone. Never talk negative or pay any attention to negativity and you will succeed where others fail.

 All of our thoughts have brought us where we are today – good or bad whether you know it or not.  Take capitive of every thought you have and remember that love assumes the best!

From the Power of Your Subconscious Mind by Dr. Joseph Murphy:

Infinite Intelligence attracts to me the buyer for this home who wants it and who prospers in it. This buyer is being sent to me by the creative intelligence of my subconscious mind which makes no mistakes. This buyer may look at many homes, but mine is the only one he/she wants and will buy because he is guided by infinite intelligence within him/her. I know the buyer is right, the time is right and the price is right. The deeper currents  of my subconscious mind are now  in operation bringing both of us together in divine order. I know that it is so.

When you say this affirmation and any affirmation couple it with a visualization of the desired results.  For example, in the book Dr. Murphy talks about how he put his house up for sale and then that night before sleeping asked himself what he would do when he sold the house. He said he would take the for sale sign in the front yard down and throw it over his shoulder and say I don’t need this anymore. Feeling the satisfaction of the end result.

Remember, always that what you are seeking is also seeking you and whenever you want to sell a home or property of any kind, there is always someone who wants what you have to offer.

When we are sleeping nothing else is … your body and all its organs are all functioning, including your mind. Luckily we don’t have to tell ourselves to breathe and our heart to beat while we are sleeping!

Our subconscious mind never rests or sleep, it keeps on going to keep us going, it controls our vital forces. Sleep helps us heal faster when we are sick or injured. Clearing your mind and forgiving yourself and everyone else before sleeping helps healing take place more rapidly. Lack of the appropriate amount of sleep can cause us to be irritated, depressed and can cause mental disorders. 

For me, I think dreaming is the best part of sleeping because many years ago I started interpreting my own dreams. My dreams have given me messages of hope, wonderful ideas, confirmations to questions I have had, solved problems for me that I couldn’t solve while awake “thinking and thinking about them! my dreams have also warned me of danger and inspired me to do good things.  Interpreting my dreams has increased my self awareness and intuition and it fun and interesting to help others see how their dreams can do the same for them.

Here is one of the ways I use my dreams to help me. 

Prayer and Sleep Bring Counsel: 

Take a situation where you need help with making a decision and before sleeping say a prayer or affirmation over and over in your mind while falling asleep. You will awaken with an answer – it may be from a dream or it may come from an intuitive knowing/gut feeling you have upon waking. Here is an example:

A woman living in Dallas has a job offer in New York City at twice her salary she is making now in Dallas. After considering everything and doing the pro and con list etc. she was still wondering if she should take the move. So that evening before going to bed she said an affirmation/prayer regarding this matter. The next morning she awoke and had a persistent feeling to not accept the position. She phoned the company and following her gut feeling/intuition, she declined the offer. In the end, about 2 months later her inner knowing (not a good idea to move and take the position) was verified as she learned that the company went bankrupt.

Try it for yourself and discover the counsel your sleep brings you. As you are about to go to sleep, claim that the infinite intelligence of your subconscious mind is guiding and directing you. Then expect an answer perhaps in a dream or on awakening.

 Sweet Dreams.

There are 9 days until Christmas and for many of us the pressure of the holiday is on. It is funny, I think that one of the most amazing times of the year can bring out the best and worst in us.  Today,  I invite you to take 5 minutes from your crazy schedule and breathe. Breathe in the moment and let out all your anxiety. Know that all is well. Accept what is right now and not what you wished it to be or not be. By participating in this moment, right now you can move forward with deeper meaning. Worry and stress never made things better or your wishes appear faster. Your wishes never get here when stuck in worrying. 

I came across an ad from a department store posted in a newspaper years ago and here I share it with you with a few of my own added. I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and many blessings to all. May we acknowledge all our blessings that are here now already in our lives big and small.

This week marks the 7^th year anniversary of buying my home, my first home. I celebrate it every year and my house is included in my daily gratitude list along with family, friends and people, situations, pets and things I am thankful for. But I also celebrate it because it is one of many things that prove to me that the power of prayer, affirmations and visualization do work in manifesting your dreams. And gratitude goes along way too in keeping the good in your life that you have been blessed with.

 Like most single women I had been living in an apartment all my adult life. The last apartment I lived in was amazing. It was on a top floor of a building, beautiful views of the city I lived in, a fireplace and was for an apartment quite spacious at 1400 square feet. My life was going very well. I had a great job, plenty of money, good friends and I was in love.  You could say my life was on fire! Then one night that all changed when the man I was in love with was killed in an auto accident. My world fell apart and I fell apart. Without going into deep detail of how and why of that part of the story I will keep it at I got to a point where I didn’t care about life anymore and let everything go. I lost the will to live and consequently lost all my financial means. At my sister’s urging and then she and my dad coming to get me and my cats, I moved from that city back to the city wear my family lived. In fact, I moved in with my mom and step-dad.

 Living back at home with my parents, in my mid-thirties, broke, depressed and mentally lost was not the life I had planned on having a few years earlier. For the first year I did nothing but mope. I thank my family for putting up with me and being there for me when I was not at my best. But there does come a time when enough is enough. It happened one day when my step father and I were sitting on the patio talking. He said to me “I don’t like seeing you this way. You are not this type of woman. However, if you don’t get a job in the next 30 days I am kicking you out. You can go get a job at the Wal-Mart.” Shocked and mad I stormed off to my bedroom like teenager. Looking back that was the best and most loving thing he could have done for me – Tough love. I was mad about him telling me he was going to kick me out of their home and madder that he suggested I go work at Wal-Mart! Being a successful retailer from the world of high fashion and luxury, I thought to myself, how dare he suggest that I work at Wal-Mart. Does he not know who I am?  The truth was I forgot who I was. His comment lit a fire in me that had been dead for quite some time.

  I thank my step father for that comment because if he hadn’t said that I don’t know what would have happened?  I do know that he would have stayed true to his word and I would have been living in my car!  My birthday weekend was approaching and my dad gave me a plane ticket to visit an out of town friend. I considered moving to the state my friend lived in and day dreamed about a brand new start in that city. But then I had the nudge that the place for me was where I was living now. Just not with my parents. When I got back to my parents I had a new attitude and new vision for my life. First thing to do is get a job and no not at Wal-Mart. (No Offense to Wal-Mart I shop there weekly).

 Once back at my parents I made a list of where I wanted to work. The type of store I wanted to run. It had to be luxury clothing, luxury brand, financially solid company, good people and good pay. I got very detailed about it. I visualized myself being at work, how I felt, what I wore etc. One day while searching online I saw an ad for a store manager for a most fabulous luxury brand and I immediately applied. I was so excited about this company. Long story short, I had the job within a week of applying for it.

 I was on my way! After I got my job I then knew I was ready to move out on my own. I had a new love in my life too, a puppy and he was going to get really big and needed a yard. An apartment was not what I wanted. I wanted my own home. All odds were against me but I knew it was time to get my own house. When I get a feeling deep down in my gut and a knowing of certainty about an idea or thing in my heart then to me that is God speaking to me. It’s always been that way for me, how I know God is telling me something and that no matter what if I just keep my faith in Him/Her it will come to pass.

 My dream House:

 I made a list of all the things I wanted in my dream house. At first it was so grand and big and there is nothing wrong with that but I realized I didn’t really want all that yet. Besides, I knew that I was not mentally prepared to manifest a huge mansion at this point. It is important to know your limits so that you set yourself up for success and not failure when visualizing. If you can visualize something grand but can’t accept it as true then it will not happen for you no matter how much you see it. You have got to see it, taste it, feel it, hear it and touch it in your mind. So here is the list that I made for my house:

 1.) 3 bedrooms and 2 baths

2.) Fireplace

3.) Big fenced in backyard

4.) Two car garage

5.) High ceilings

6.) Nice neighbors with no kids

7.) A patio

8.) Safe neighborhood

9.) At least 1500 square feet

10.) Sprinkler system

 I visualized this house every moment I had but mainly before I went to bed. I would spend at least an hour visualizing my home and me living in it. I used affirmations and I prayed to be guided to this home. I also read two books mainly that inspired me and helped me with affirmations; The Power Of Your Sub-Conscious Mind by Dr. Joseph Murphy and Your Word Is Your Wand By Florence Scovel Shinn.  I highly recommend both of these books in creating and manifesting anything you desire.

 Searching for my home:

 When we had time my mom would go with me and we would drive all around looking at homes. It helped that my mom at the time was a real estate agent and we could look all over. She helped a lot. I found a really cute house near my parents and it almost met all the criteria. That one did not work out for me. The search continued for about 2 months.

 One Sunday afternoon my mom took me to a brand new community that she had previewed with her office mates earlier. We drove up to it and looked around. There I found another home. It was a darling little home and brand new. It was there that I decided that I want a brand new home not a pre-owned home! I wanted a home of only my energy and my cooties! I almost purchased that little home but decided that the drive from it to my store was much too long – at least an hour each way. So on the way back we stopped at another new community and went in and asked the agent if they had any inventory homes available. He was with another customer at the time but said yes and directed us to the house. 

 This IS the one:

 We drove up to the house and it was so cute, brick, new landscaping, cream colored trim and door and brand new. Mom and I walked inside and I felt from that moment that I was home. We looked around and I walked to the back master bedroom and I looked out the big window and in the yard next door the neighbor lady had the most beautiful blooming roses. A side note here: Roses are my personal sign that I ask for from my angels and or God for confirmation on decisions or direction. When I saw those roses, the only roses I saw on all the visits to all different homes I looked at combined with the positive feeling from walking in the door to this house I knew this was the one. This is my house.

 My mom could tell she looked at me in the living room and said “I can see on your face this is the one isn’t it?” I said yes, I think it is. It has everything on the list I mentioned above.  I asked my mom to wait outside for a moment as I always did so that I could feel the energy and talk to the house alone. It only took a few moments before I emerged from the house because it told me already that it belonged to me.

 Next was purchasing the house. I have never purchased a house before and was told that it was a big difficult process. I guess that is and isn’t true but I do know that when God promises you something it will come to pass. I was turned down for the loan three times. I had only had a new job for 3 month’s; I didn’t have much credit – not bad credit just no credit or record of long payment. I had paid my car off 6 years before and didn’t have any credit cards etc. But I didn’t let that bother me, I kept my focus on seeing it and believing it was my home. The final time I was turned down I broke down and went outside and sat on the bench on the side of my parent’s home. I said “God, I don’t know what else to do? If this house is really mine then I give it over to you to give to me”. About 15 minutes later, my mom came out and sat down next to me. After telling me some words of comfort she hugged me and the she said, “Well, I have one other mortgage loan person we can call that I know of do you want me to call him?” I said “Well, ok but if it doesn’t work out with this person then the house is not meant for me”. 

 “D” the person who was a mortgage loan officer called me. I sent him all my information and while talking to this person they told me that they will get this done. I said ok. I thought from previous experience that I would have to wait another 2 or 3 weeks for an approval, however, he called back within a few days – I was approved!  Thank you, Thank you, Thank you God. On November 18 with my mom by my side we drove to the title company and I signed my papers and got the key to my house. Mom and I went out for a celebration dinner and we drove up to my house to say hello to MY new home! I moved into my home that weekend and have been here now for seven years.

 I would like to add one other amazing part to this story: The sales realtor for my home was very patient and kind man. But the house was an inventory home belonging to the builder who developed the community which means it is there to sell. And while I worked hard to get approved for the loan the time it took waiting for approval made the home available for someone else to buy. Gene (the realtor) and I would talk every few days and after I got my home he told me that this home really was meant for me because not once in all the weeks of Monday morning sales meetings did his boss pressure him about this particular house being sold. In fact, he told me that his boss never mentioned the house. His boss mentioned all the other inventory homes for sale but not this house. He said he was always bracing himself for his boss to pressure him about selling it and not waiting on me too long, but his boss never brought it up.

 After a year of living at my home I was thinking of Gene and how kind he was and what a big part he played in me getting the home and wanted to call and say hello. I called the home office of the builder figuring he had been moved to another community. But no one knew who he was that I talk to in the office. Then my mother who was at a realtor function met someone who also knew Gene and was told that Gene had passed away a few months earlier.  I like to think of Gene as a little angel that helped things move along and I am forever grateful to him too in playing a part in getting my home.

 Everyday, I am thankful for my home. I show it my gratitude by taking care of it, enjoying it, appreciating it, decorating it and filling it full of love everyday. You can laugh if you want I don’t care but I usually hug and give it a kiss too! I wrap my arms around the column between the living room and dining room and hold tight and visualize love going all through it. I thank it for warming me in the winter, cooling me in the summer and protecting me and my family and for saying “Welcome Home!” to me everyday.

Your bedroom is the temple where one of the most interesting and magical processes of the human condition takes place: sleep.  Our modern day bedrooms are multipurpose and not just for sleeping and incubating dreams. At night it is the room where we sleep, watch t.v., read, make love, study, and various other activities. Our bedrooms welcome us to get cozy and comfortable at the end of long day.  It calls to us to come, relax, unwind and wraps us in a blanket of a security as we say goodnight and drift off to sleep. In the morning, our bedrooms look different as the sunlight brightens the rooms and it seems to say to us “Good Morning this is a new day full of promise and hope.”

Sleep and dreams are two areas where science has yet to fully understand or explain their mysteries. For centuries sleep and dreams have held their place in folklore, magick and wives tales, old fears and beliefs that continue  today.   For example: don’t sleep in strange places, don’t sleep with your head pointing south, don’t eat spicey foods before sleep…etc.  As for dreams and the mystery they hold much is revealed to a wise interpreter. Today, many still use techniques derived from ancient religions and or magic to encourage restful sleep and to reveal messages from dreams.

The Bedroom:

The best bedroom is a room that is spacious enough to move about freely, a great bed, soft lighting and decorated with colors that promote peace, rest and tranquility. Great bedroom colors are soft or pastel blues, greys, greens, creams, earth tones and white. Furniture that is comfortable.  Of all the rooms in your home, the bedroom is the one place that when you walk into it all you can say is “ahhhh!” I’m home, I’m safe, I’m relaxed and at peace.  As my grandmother always says when she goes to bed, it’s time to shut the world out.

Beds:

There are so many wonderful beds to choose today.  This is not about telling you what mattress to buy although I recommend you try several and be sure to get  the best one for you and your body to ensure restful and blissful sleep.  A few fun bed/mattress facts for you are: In the past, 100 plus years ago mattresses were made of feathers and were thought to be effective protection against lightning strikes, so people would lay on their beds during thunderstorms. Also, different types of feathers were used; partridge feathers were thought to prevent disease, pigeon feathers caused sleepless nights and dove feathers were considered unlucky. Prior to feathers, grass and plants were used in bedding.  I am so grateful to be born in modern times!

Sleeping Positions:

There are traditional sleeping positions that many cultures and spiritual practices believe are better than others for the energy of your life. Sleeping with your head pointing:

North: Promotes stability, calmness, prosperity and healing.  The North is considered the source of magical power.

South: Not good! Promotes insomnia, illness, weariness.

East: Promotes intelligence, sharp mental powers, freedom of the mind. The East is associated also with religion and spirituality. Because the sun and moon rise in the east and set in the west it is considered the most natural way to sleep as well – head in the east feet toward the west.

West: Promotes love, psychic abilities, spirituality and is the ideal position for those practicing dream magic.

If moving your bed is not practical then using a mirror facing the opposite direction to counter the negative energy. For example, a small mirror hung on the headboard of a bed facing South.

All doors open now  for happy surprises and the Divine Plan of my life is speeded up under grace.

I love this affirmation and wanted to share it with you all. To me this affirmation just makes you smile when you say it.

Say or write this affirmation 40 times every morning before you start your day and 40 times every night before going to sleep. You can say it as a mantra as you meditate or as you are going about your day. Affirmations work wonders in our lives and really help us focus on the good in a general way which opens up all channels for our good to come to us in Divine ways.

Try it or any affirmation that “connects” with you or one that gives you a positive charge for one month every day as perscribed above and watch the good that comes flowing into your life.

This particular affirmation is from Florence Scovel Shinn, who was a pioneer of motivational thinking and an inspirational writer of her time.

Quite a few lottery winners have said that their winning numbers came to them in a dream; that when they awoke from the dream they jotted down the numbers that were dancing in their heads, played them, and then won.  Some say that their numbers paid off right away while others said they had to play for years before the pay off.

In September 2006 a woman named Mary Wollens purchased a quick pick ticket then she had a dream regarding those numbers on her quick pick. In her dream also with those numbers was a check for a large sum.  When she awoke she felt that she needed to play those numbers again and went on and purchased a second ticket for the same game with the same numbers.

Lo and behold a few days later she won the lottery but someone else had the correct numbers picked.  Normally, the winners would have split the winnings but because of her dream and leading her to buy the second ticket she got to claim two thirds of the winnings. She to $16 million dollars of a     $ 24 million dollar jackpot. The other winner got $8.0 million.

Some of you may have read this story at some time or another or perhaps received it by email.  I checked out the validity of the story on Snopes and it is true.

Just goes to show that having a pen/pencil and dream journal handy at your bedside to record your dreams sure can payoff! In this case, the pay off  was AMAZING!

As a young Christian, I often thought it was weird to call the day that Jesus was crucified good.  Then I learned the reason it is called Good Friday even though there seemed to be nothing good about the darkest day, is because it is darkest before the dawn of many who awakened to a new life.  Jesus arose from his grave as he said he would. He lives and His teachings live because of what transpired over Easter weekend. 

I think many of us have experienced dark days where we thought that it was the end. And many of us are experiencing some dark days now. Some of us have lost jobs, been downsized from our companies and we feel downsized in our souls. Some of us are going through divorce or the loss of loved one. Others may have debt piled so overwhelming high that it seems hopeless. Or maybe you have been betrayed by a friend or trusted confident and now  the one you thought you could trust has just thrown it away?  I certainly have  experienced many dark days.  And there were many, many times that I have been so down and felt so alone that I couldn’t see a possibility that things would ever be better.  How many have you been there? And what brought you out of your darkest day? For me it was my faith in God.

My faith and trust in God and focusing on God’s goodness and love keeps me and has kept me going during times I felt that I am being crucified. When I turn my focus to God and shut out all the noise and seemingly endless negativity from the world by going into silence and prayer God is there, always God is there.  In this time of silence, I surrender all my problems and hurts to God praying for His guidance and I am calmed. It is then that I hear and feel God telling me the way to keep going, how to reinvent myself, how to meet obligations and to be happy and successful in my life again. 

In dreams, God can talk to us easily because our subconscious is open and receptive to receiving information our conscious mind would otherwise question or dismiss. In our dreams we reach the theta state of consciousness. Theta is the state where God and the realm of creation is and we can get there as well in prayer. 

On this Good Friday, if you are experiencing a sort of personal crucifiction remind yourself that it is always darkest before the dawn. Go into silence and surrender to God with faith and trust that with God you will arise above it all to be new again. There is life after seeming death.
